Biography
Command Sergeant Major, Nathaniel J. Bartee Sr. retired from the United States Army after 33 1/2 years of active-duty service. He served in several key Enlisted positions; from Squad member to Two Star Nominative Level; Command Sergeant Major. CSM Bartee started and ended his career as a Transportation Soldier (88M). Command Sergeant Major last active-duty assignment in the United States Army was as the Combined Arms Support Command/Sustainment Center of Excellence and Fort Lee, VA. Currently known as Fort Gregg-Adams, VA. Command Sergeant Major. CSM Bartee currently serves as the 10th, 11th and 12th Grade, LET II through IV-JROTC Senior Army Instructor at Stanhope Elmore High School. CSM Bartee was selected as the 2021-2022, Columbia High School “Teacher of the Year”, North Alabama Federal Credit Union Honor Roll Teacher for the Month of April 2024, and currently serves as the Vice President of the JROTC Committee for the Alabama State Department of Education, Career and Technical Education for 2022-2025. Command Sergeant Major Bartee resides in Pike Road, AL with his wife, Pamela Denise Bartee. They have two wonderful children: son, Nate Jr. and daughter, Tori.

CSM Bartee's previous deployments include Kuwait “Desert Storm/Desert Shield”; Iraq “Operation Iraqi Freedom”; Kuwait “Operation Enduring Freedom”; Afghanistan “Operation Enduring Freedom”; and Iraq “Operation Inherent Resolve”; and Afghanistan “Operation Freedom Sentinel”. CSM Bartee’s awards include the Legion of Merit (2nd OLC): Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal, (3rd OLC); Army Commendation Medal, (3rd OLC); Army Achievement Medal, (5th OLC); Good Conduct Medal, (10th Award); Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, (w/Numeral 4); Overseas Service Ribbon, (3rd tour); National Defense Service Medal; South West Asia Service Medal; Kuwait Liberation Medal; Saudi and Kuwait Liberation Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; International Security Assistance Force (ISAF); Army Superior Unit Award; Army Service Ribbon; Driver’s-Mechanic Badge (W) with bar; the Central Texas-Fort Hood Chapter (AUSA) award for 2009; the Military Order of Saint Christopher Medal (Honorable) and the Military Order of Saint Martin Medal (Honorable).
